Beans are roasted to bring out the unique flavours of the coffee when brewed using an espresso machine or stovetop. Espresso machines produce a concentrated, ‘stronger’ tasting coffee that can be drunk on its own, with hot water or with steamed milk to create a flat white, cappuccino or latte.
Filter beans are roasted for filter brew methods such as cafetiere, AeroPress, V60 or percolator. Filter roasts are typically roasted lighter to reveal more subtle flavours in the coffee.
If you’re brewing using an espresso method select an espresso roast and we’ll send you a coffee box with coffee beans that are roasted to taste best for espresso.
If you use a filter method we’ll send you a box with filter roast beans, these will reveal subtler, sweeter flavours.
However, taste is subjective. If you like more body and a darker flavour, go for an espresso roast subscription box. If you prefer a lighter flavour, then select a filter roast coffee box.
And if you want to switch it up, you can change your subscription box free of charge at anytime.
Your coffee beans are delivered to you within days of being roasted. That’s one of the ways we can guarantee the optimum coffee drinking experience.
If you don’t like it, we’ll send you a FREE replacement.

I must say I really enjoyed the 4 coffees sent, I like that I will discover new coffees. I wish I could request 5 a month, rather than 4. 4 is not enough.
A little prezzie to myself each month with a tasty gift that gives all month long. Great idea for getting smaller roasting companies out into the market too. I’m all for boosting the little man.
I’m starting a diary of tasting notes too so I can keep track of the amazing variety (who knows, I might treat myself to an electric grinder in the coming months )
First month, but v good so far, especially the distinctive and v good Nicaraguan ‘Los cielitos’ from a Bristol supplier. Like the idea of a variety of suppliers.
I’m so glad I came across your service, as a result of attending the London Coffee festival and getting the latest caffeine journal. The coffee is just wonderful and the contrast between the bags makes it such a joy of discovery. Here’s to next month’s box.
A brilliant way to try lots of great coffees. Coffees from all over the country. A real treat. Brew, the magazine, is educational and interesting. I know a lot more about the coffee process now!
Bought a one-off box initially and became avid Indie Coffee converts, signing up for a monthly subscription. Great to be able to try different beans each month and added bonus of supporting independent roasters. Well put together, coffee is deliciously fresh (we didn’t realise how much that affects flavour, we do now!) and a lovely treat each month. Keep up the good work and thanks for sole-handedly upping our coffee game!
Thank you for the fabulous coffees I’ve been getting every month with my Indy Coffee Box subscription. So pleased I subscribed! Since lockdown I‘ve been working from home and a good brew is essential to a good days work (and one of the perks of working from home too because I get to drink really good quality artisan coffee, and don’t have to share it with everyone in the office either!!). Life working from home is much much better with quality coffee and I love the Brew newspaper that comes with it too, with its tips on making a good hot or cold brew and all the tasting notes and background stories of the artisan roasters. Looking forward to next month’s delivery already!
I love my coffee box. It is great, particularly with Covid, to get 4 bags of coffee automatically delivered every month. The coffee is always delicious and I love the fact I am able to try beans from different countries and roasters around the UK. I really recommend this box for people who want to get into drinking delicious coffee in their own home.
This is so far is an outstanding way to be introduced to independent roasters that otherwise may escape you. I thought I was fairly clued up on the coffee scene. I go to events, seek out producers on the internet and try to support a few of my local ones as often as I can. Indycoffeebox has done alot of that research and sifting out of your hands and as a result it’s all hit and no miss. Brill service.
Coffee beans came on time and we were impressed by the freshness and the roasts which were dated recently. Used both varieties for cappuccinos every day. The Moonroast had a lot of flavour and was complex and interesting. The Guatemalan coffee was more subtle, pleasant when I got the grind right. We were impressed with the packaging and information. Very interesting getting these each month. Many Thanks.
