Mastering his craft at Five Senses Coffee in Australia, founder Sam Young launched his own roasting operation on the outskirts of Edinburgh in 2017.
Beans destined for Obadiah’s 12kg Diedrich are selected based on a thorough understanding of how the conditions at origin can translate through the roasting process and into the cup.

The team work creatively with their eclectic customer base and tailor coffee solutions to meet every coffee shop and home brewer’s individual needs. Obadiah is also pushing the boundaries of Scottish coffee culture in its sustainable sourcing and planet-friendly packaging practices: ‘We recently introduced reusable tubs for our wholesale customers,’ says Sam.
