- For one shot, weigh out and then grind 16g of coffee into the basket of the portafilter. Give the side of the basket a couple of taps to level the coffee, wiping away any grinds on the rim.
- Place the portafilter against the edge of a sturdy work surface and press a tamper onto the coffee grounds in the basket to level the coffee bed.
- Lock the portafilter in place in the machine and place a cup under the spouts, then press the brew button on the machine.Stop the machine after around 25 seconds.
- Serve the espresso shot straight as espresso, topped up with hot water to make a long black or lavished with steamed milk for a flat white.
