How much coffee will I need?

Two curious coffee drinkers under one roof? We recommend kicking off with a three bag box – that’s just over one cup of coffee a day each if you’re brewing cafetière.

If you’re caffeine habits are livelier, go pro with the four bag box. You’ll be averaging 60 coffees a month.

Riding solo? Try the two bag box. You can always upgrade your order, right?

What’s with the whole bean?

We deliver your coffee as whole beans only. That’s because speciality coffee’s unique flavour characteristics begin to degrade as soon as the bean is ground and we want our subscribers to experience coffee at its lip-smacking best.

How fresh is the coffee?

It’s good to be a snob when it comes to coffee freshness so we make sure all of the beans reach your door within days 4 or 5 days of being roasting, which is optimum.

That’s why we only do one delivery a month on a set date.

What if I’m going on holiday?

If you’re going to be away you can pause your subscription at any time from your account area. You must pause the subscription before the 14th of the month.

Don’t have a grinder at home?

There’s a wealth super duper pro grinders out there, but you can also buy fairly inexpensive manual and electric grinders which will do the trick for home use.

When we’re not creating insanely delicious coffee subscriptions, you’ll find us touring the UK and Ireland, meeting roasters and coffee shop owners.

How will my coffee be delivered?

Your coffee beans will come in their original packaging from the roasteries (we don’t rebag; it’s not good for the planet) which we pack in your cardboard Indy Coffee Box in a hygenic environment.

Your Indy Coffee Box will be delivered by the postman and left outside your front door (or wherever you’ve specified as your safe place).

What’s the coffee criteria?

Only speciality grade coffee, roasted by high quality, independent UK artisan roasteries who make the grade to be in the Indy Coffee Guide guides get in the box. It’s one of the ways we guarantee quality of coffee.

Why speciality coffee?

The SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) defines speciality as: ‘Specialty coffee can consistently exist through the dedication of the people who have made it their life’s work to continually make quality their highest priority.

This is not the work of only one person in the lifecycle of a coffee bean; specialty can only occur when all of those involved in the coffee value chain work in harmony and maintain a keen focus on standards and excellence from start to finish.

This is no easy accomplishment, and yet because of these dedicated professionals, there are numerous specialty coffees available right now, across the globe, and likely right around the corner from you.
